don't be deceived

did you ever see shrek? ha, i guess that's a pretty pointless question; the question is more like "who hasn't?" remember donkey and shrek's conversation in the first movie, about ogres and their personalities...

Shrek: Ogres are like onions.
Donkey: They stink?
Shrek: Yes. No.
Donkey: Oh, they make you cry.
Shrek: No.
Donkey: Oh, you leave em out in the sun, they get all brown, start sproutin' little white hairs.
Shrek: NO. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.

i guess we all have layers. some close friends get to see more of our layers than other people, but the deepest layers are usually privy only to ourselves.

so many people have this top layer of indifference...as if nothing can touch them and they don't give a crap about anybody or anything. they don't want to be hurt or they don't want people to know how vulnerable they are or how keenly they feel ... they think it's uncool.

i want my innermost layer to burn with the fire of a passion that will devour every other layer. i want to be just a person living an honest, open life - unafraid to show others how keenly i feel and how much i care and Who i live for.
